Linda had fun at her drum lesson. Although I am still cooking a turkey we are going to our friends Bob and Anne's for dinner. It is a nice day here, would be nice to go for a trail ride but there will be too many hunters out on this day especially. Gotta go make stuffing and some pies. Gobble Gobble!

Linda got her basketball uniform tonight, she got the shirt with 20 on it so she was glad. It was the same number she had for soccer. Happy Thanksgiving!!!

Pouring rain, high winds makes for a very nasty day at work especially since I was floating and had to walk in the rain quite a bit. Linda and Fred played in the wood shop some more and cleaned stalls for me. Came home from work and took Linda to basketball practice, gotta go pick her up now. They get their uniforms tonight, she is excited.

Went to the mall today to shop for a winter coat for Linda. Our winters are colder and more snowy than where she lives in Germany. Being the picky shopper she is, we were unable to find one that she liked. We did however find her some pants that she liked and were actually the right length for her 5'2" . She and Fred did lunch at Subway, I did lunch at McD's. Yum, chocolate shake with cheeseburgers. I actually found a pair of corduruoy(sp?) pants that fit and were stretchy. Yee haw! Came home made sloppy joes for supper, cleaned stalls, brought the horses in and fed them, now going to take Linda to basketball practice. While she is practicing i will probably rush to grocery store to get stuff for Thanksgiving day. Turkey-- gobble, gobble! She has no school this week due to teachers workshops and T-day vacation. She will probably work in the woodshop with Fred tomorrow. We are supposed to get nasty weather tonight such as blustery winds with rain or snow/sleet mix. Have to be at work at 7:30 am , hopefully by then the roads will be okay.

I love this tree, how did it not fall into the river? It is so eroded away under the roots it should have fallen the opposite way. This tree is out on the edge of the path that is going to be part of our trail for riding horses or walking. It is so pretty out there. We put a deer feed block out there hoping to draw some deer to it. Last week when Fred and I were walking out there, we did see a deer across the river walking thru the woods. Fred never knew I took the picture of him in the woods, I was walking up the hill and just kind of snapped the camera hoping I would get him. Usually if he sees me trying to take a picture of him he ruins it by covering his face.

If a tree falls in the woods, will Fred hear it?

Brrr.... 16 degrees last night on my way home from work. Not complaining though, because I dont like the heat in the summer.
Linda made the first team for basketball, she may be able to play on the JV team at some point. She is still doing good in school and still liking it , so that is a good thing.
Fred and Gene are out working in the woods to make the horse trail longer for us to ride out. They are doing a good job. It should be pretty next fall. So long......

Brrr... it's a little chilly this morning, lots of frost on the grass. 21 degrees.
Linda made it thru her first basketball practice, quite a few of the girls from the soccer team were also there to try out so she was happy to see them. She has another practice tonight and I think the coaches will determine then who makes the first team or JV team. We'll see how it goes.

More views of Boston: Bunker Hill Monument, views from Charles River, church

Seriously, Linda has not gained any weight , she is just too active playing sports and riding. Now with basketball I dont think she will put on any weight. Of course she doesnt like our American chocolate, but she does like our peanut butter.

Linda told me to write that she has gained so much weight that she can only show her nose!

Fred reading Uncle Henrys seeing whats for sale, the Wild thing didnt want to move

We had a good time at the Equine Affaire, lots of walking and browsing , some shopping and buying. Boston trip was fun, Linda got to drive the "duck" bus on the Charles river..it also travels on land and gave us a tour of Boston. Linda slept good Saturday night, she didnt wake up until 9 am Sunday morning. Tonight, Monday, she has basketball tryouts from 6-9pm. I am sure she will do good. By the end of tomorrow night she should know if she is on the first team or Junior Varsity team, I dont think she will make the Varsity team where those girls have been playing right along thru school. I have to work til 10 so i will be calling home to see how she made out tonight.

Sunday I didnt make it to church, but Linda and I got to ride together. First time i have been back on Bud since I fell off. We had fun. She played in the woodshop with Fred most of the afternoon. She really enjoys working with the wood and making things. Monday, Linda rode Ginger again, she thinks she will take Ginger home with her... I told her no way.. Ginger is staying right here. Tuesday... Veterans day, Linda had no school, she spent most of the day doing stuff with Fred, then we met some people from CHI at Portsmouth Bowl and did some bowling. I had to work today (7-3). Tomorrow I work 8-4 and then I am off for 3 days. 2 days at equine affaire and the third day trip to Boston. Busy, busy, busy........I will post some pictures tomorrow hopefully.

Okay, I never thought I would say this because I cant stand the heat/hot weather, but here goes--" LET THE SUN SHINE!!!! " Tired of this dismal weather!
Went shopping last night, got Lindas basketball sneakers. Told her she needs to start breaking them in before she actually gets out on the court.
Not much else is going on. Going to the Equine Affaire this coming weekend. Looking forward to that. Well, gotta go get ready for work. So long.....

Tuesday was a busy day for Ginger. I had a little girl come over and ride her , after she got done her father rode her while Linda rode Bud, then I rode her along with Linda and Bud. She is such a good horse. I got up at 3:30 this morning, worked 5-1, came home cleaned stalls, rode Ginger for half hour, took her out thru the trail that Fred and Gene have been working on clearing. It is going to be nice out thru the woods once they are done. Went to school to pick up linda, she stayed after to play/practice in the gym for basketball, she was the only girl. Came home made chop suey for supper, brought the horses in, groomed Bud, he was covered in mud somehow. watched tv for a while, Linda and I went to my friend Ana's house to visit and have hot chocolate. We are borrowing a sleeping bag from her for Linda to go to a birthday slumber party this weekend. came home and finished feeding the horses and now i am done for the night.

went to sign Linda up for basketball tonight, saw a lot of faces i remembered from school. We met another girl from Germany that is staying with a family in Lebanon. Linda and she started talking in German. When walking out to the truck, Linda started laughing and said she had to really think about speaking in German because she is so used to speaking English now. Should be another busy season.

Went to work from 7:30 - 3:30, came home made some pumpkin bread, ate some supper, did a load of laundry, brought the horses in filled their water buckets and gave them a flake of hay, put the laundry in the dryer, went grocery shopping, came home fed the horses their grain and another flake of hay, put the groceries away and now here i am relaxing. Good thing we turn the clocks back tonight, I can use that extra hour of sleep.
