Enjoyed the view, enjoyed lunch with friends, enjoyed the ride!

Poor Bandit, he just wants to "play" with Bud so much, only Bud just isnt in the mood i guess. When i put them out Bandit tried to "play face" with Bud and play, his front legs (knees) were almost up to Buds shoulder. Bud went off into other pasture and Bandit followed right on his butt like they were attached. Bud started backing up putting his butt right into Bandits chest and then kicked him, needless to say Bandit backed off and went to eat. Wish I had the camera with me.

Hallelujah!!!! What a glorious day out there! No humidity to make me sweat!!! It is so good to have good friends that will come help out around here. I even had help getting Bandits shoe off, theres not many people that are willing to help with that. Thank you Peter, Debbie, Shannon and Jason!!! Now i can ride on my 4 days off with good weather.

Enough of the heat already!!! I am so looking forward to fall weather with no humidity!
Much to my dismay, Gingers Boa boots dont fit Bandit, his foot is too big! So.... I am debating about pulling off his other shoe which is a little loose already. At least he will be even and maybe I will be able to ride him on my 4 days off!!!! We shall see. I am just not sure about pulling it , i dont want to rip his hoof apart, but i think i can do it.

Yahoo!!! with Debbies help we found Bandits shoe in the pasture, not far from where i had walked earlier this morning. She also helped me clean stalls, thanks DEB!!
AARRGH!!!! Bandit lost his front shoe, figures, I have a 4 day weekend off to be able to ride..:(
I am hoping the Boa boots I had for Ginger will fit his foot , then maybe I can ride. The farrier comes next Monday. Now to walk the field and try to find his shoe!! Then off to work i go.

Debbie and I are going to Andover Maine this weekend to a versatility challenge test with Bandit. Therefore, all the pictures below, we are trying to think of things to test him with. So far nothing has bothered him. I need to teach him to sidepass towards the gate or over a pole, hopefully it will happen at some point. I also want to teach him to neck rein, practice, practice, practice.... I am looking forward to this weekend to see other horses do their thing and to see how Bandit will do for us. Should be fun!!! Will post pics of that next week.

Walking under a canopy, stepping on a cushion with blanket over it, learning to go thru gate, its hard since he doesnt neck rein but we got it done.

Bandit checking out the sled, dragging in front, back, pressure from the saddle, nothing seemed to bother him.

Bandit getting ready for the rain, homemade hula hoop around his neck, learning to stand ground tied with me walking away, good boy!

Well, it reached 100 today if not more! plus the humidity, I am so glad i have the next two days off! Drank so much water today!!!! Each break I went in and soaked my head under the faucet, kept a rag with ice in it around my neck. Still too hot! Too hot to sleep even with AC on, I think we need a new one.. :(

Wow! Finally done haying! So glad we got it done before the real hot humid weather gets here! Thanks to our good friends Peter, Debbie, Bruce and other kids that help Tom (our hay guy) we are done for the year! Now time to play with the horses if the deer flies dont attack us!
My lovely sister in law has been cleaning my house for me and Fred, it is so nice of her, i definitely am not a good housekeeper... horsekeeper yes, but housework???? Just not in me! I can remember when i was young when it was time to do the dishes or whatever I would go outside and find something that needed to be done, so much more fun!
Happy 4th of July to everyone! Thank a soldier for giving us the freedom to celebrate Independence Day!
