Bailey not looking too happy because I made her sit still

Mt. Major climb, Linda made it to the top, me on the other hand almost made it, close enough for this old lady

Well, I have survived climbing Mt. Major in NH. I am just too old to be doing stuff like climbing rocks, okay too fat too. Linda had a good time taking pictures and of course she had no problem climbing. It was pretty once you got so you could see the lake. I am not as sore as i thot i would be. I can feel a little tightness in my thighs but thats it. My back is actually feeling pretty good as long as i keep taking my pills. " I feel good! " Love this fall weather, could do without the rain tho. I am hoping to get on Ginger this week and see how my back does, if it is okay i will try Bud again.

Monday. worked 6-2, getting up at 4:30 is not my favorite thing to do. My back is still hurting me very much from my fall off of Bud. I think i may have to go back to doctors and see if i need xrays or ultrasound or something to see if there is something more going on there than just being bruised bad.
Linda is at a loss with no soccer practice, she has been spending time with Fred in the woodshop. We played a game of Othello tonight after supper, I won! She got a long letter from her friend in Germany today so she was glad about that. She shared some of the stories with us at supper. Things are going very well with all of us.

Well, today was Lindas last soccer game. They lost but she played quite a bit, took a few tumbles here and there. All the girls were hugging each other and making plans to get together again as a team to have some fun. Linda is now trying to decide if she wants to try out for basketball or play indoor soccer. Whatever she chooses I'm sure she will give it her all.

Wahoo!! Noble beat Biddeford 4-0! Linda came within inches of making a goal. Then she got the opportunity to play goalie. Noble controlled the ball so well that our goalie was getting bored and wanted to play. The other goalie wasnt there today so Linda got to play, she made a couple of good saves! She was excited. At the end of the game all the Noble girls ran up to her and hugged her. That made my heart feel good. She is such a good kid! Right now she is playing her guitar down at the barn. Horses dont seem to mind.

Well, I went to the Doctors this morning and he thinks i did get a concussion with the symptoms i described. Nothing broken just badly bruised! Gave me some good "horse" pills, 800 mg of pain reliever, it seems to be helping a little. Sat with ice pack on my back this afternoon, then walked to library with Linda. By the time I got back home I had had it. Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day, going to Lindas soccer game in Biddeford then to Cape Elizabeth to watch some carriage driven horses with the Maine driving club.

Well, its been quite a day! Went to some training for the turnpike, went to lunch with a friend, picked Linda up from soccer practice. It was so nice out I decided to ride Bud. He was bad right from the start, he wanted to be with Ginger.(like he doesnt see her all day)!!! Linda decided to ride Ginger and made Bud even worse want to be with her. We went out in the back field to trot and canter up a hill, Ginger was a ways ahead of us , I asked Bud for a trot, he decided to go from a walk to a full bore gallop, and then decided to throw in a buck for me, off I went onto the ground!!! OUCH!!! Thank goodness I wear a helmet. I can barely walk and feel sick to my stomach. I actually did get back on him and rode him a little more just to make him know that he wasnt going to get rid of me that easy. I hope i can move tomorrow. I took 3 Advil and sat in the whirlpool tub for about 45 minutes, but it doesnt seem to have helped. Oh well, I guess I need to cowgirl up and quit my whining. so long,...

Barn in the Fall

Good Girl Ginger

Big Bad Bud

Taking the ball down the field.

Whew! Split and stacked wood today! Feeling it now! Went to Lindas soccer game with Kennebunk, pretty good game. They ended up tied 2-2. Had sloppy joes for supper, cleaned stalls, chatted with Linda about Germany, made brownies. Linda was drinking some water and I said something and she burst out laughing which made the water burst out of her mouth all over the table, as she bent over laughing more water spilled out of her cup. I told her it was a good thing she wasnt staying in some fancy rich house. I love to hear her laugh!

Foliage shot on dirt road.

Her name in the sand and the Atlantic Ocean made her very happy!

A girl and her truck, it's a beautiful thing!

Monday Oct 6, Lindas team finally won another game on Saturday, they played Deering, it was a good game . The teams were pretty evenly matched. She had a good time. Yesterday we went to Wells beach and walked the jetty and a little on the beach and then she got cold! Had pizza at Paras pizza and then took a scenic trip home on all the back roads so she could get pictures of the foliage. She has a game today with Thornton Academy, Fred will go and watch, I have to work til midnight. Not much else going on.....

Its Thursday and we are into October already! Went to Fryeburg fair today and had some good ice cream at the dairy barn. Saw lots of people we know. Stopped and bought some shavings for the horses stalls, put them away, cleaned stalls, went and picked Linda up from soccer practice, cooked supper, did dishes and now here. Oh yeah, brought the horses in and fed them for the night. I am listening to Linda play her guitar, she is doing really well with it.
