Got up at 6:30, put Bud out and fed him, cleaned his stall, came in took a shower, had my muffin and chocolate milk for breakfast, filled the woodstove, gave Bud some leading lessons while Fred used tractor to move some snow in pasture., went to church, came home had a sandwich for lunch, got ready for work, worked 2-10, came home on slippery roads, fed Bud his late night snack and now will get ready for bed so I can do it all again tomorrow then I get 2 days off..... Yeehaw!
Fred and I went to the JV basket ball game tonight. It felt wierd not to be able to see Linda play. Noble actually won the game 37 - 32, good game. Turns out Fred didnt blow a transmission line he blew a radiator hose off which caused the transmission to heat up and not want to work, truck is all better now.
Well, the Ford got the job done and then died, it blew a transmission line. We had to hook a chain to it and pull it out of the way with the tractor. Oh well, life goes on here at the "farm".... all the snow has slid off the roof in front of the barn, leaving a big pile to walk thru until Fred moves it with the tractor. Bud had huge snowballs in his feet, had to pick them out without my gloves.By the time I got done my hands were quite COLD!
No pictures cause my hands were busy. I am trying to work with Bud to get him used to having noise dragging behind him. He pulls the cart with no problem , but if something is dragging behind him he gets nervous. I use a plastic yellow sled with baling twine tied to it and just try to walk Bud and drag the sled with me. The other day we put the saddle on and tied a rope to the saddle and fred held on to the rope while kneeling in the sled.... I really wish I had a shot of that. I was hoping to take Bud to a skijoring clinic this weekend but it is already full, so I am going to go audit it and maybe pick up a few pointers on how to accomplish my goal. I want to eventually get a wooden sleigh to hook onto Bud to use in the winter months. Oh well, forward and onward, hope to get some riding in this weekend... P.S. I am a great aunt ! My niece had a baby boy... Liam Douglass Mills. They live in Florida so I probably wont see him for awhile....:(
Jung In made it, her plane was late landing but she was able to catch the next one and got to Portland around 12:30pm. We had a great time together. Sad to see her go. We got to go to Christmas Eve church service, sang Silent Night by candlelight, very nice.
