The pillar that Bandit thot was a monster, my fan club..Brian, Bailey, Bob and Anne....good to have friends there for you just in case....

First ride on Bandit, I dont know who was more nervous, me or him. For only being here 2 days he did okay.

Took my first ride on Bandit today, not as good as i was hoping but i was probably just as nervous as he was. We need to work on standing at the mounting block and not swinging hips away from me. He did stand perfectly still for me to get off tho. Being only his second day here i didnt ride for long, just around in front of the barn testing his whoa and go. Wanna make sure i have a whoa when i need it! He got a little spooked at the pillars in the drive way --big monsters! I ended up getting done and then walking him by them and all around the property out back where i hope to ride him, we saw 4 turkeys and they didnt seem to bother him. Will post pictures of my "ride" later.

Went out to get Bandit from pasture, whistled and called him, and he actually trotted up to me so of course I rewarded him with a cookie. Took him in put him on cross ties, groomed him, cleaned his feet, sprayed him with waterless shampoo trying to clean him up a little, combed his mane, threw a saddle pad on him, put Gingers bridle on him and it fits YaY! He was a little fidgety but not bad for his first day here. I was very happy. He and Bud seem to be getting along so far, of course they are in separate pastures for now. The vet is coming tomorrow to give Bandit his vaccinations and coggins test. I need to get the farrier to come out and pull off his back shoes before I put them together. If he does kick Bud, it would be better barefoot not with steel shoes. I think he is going to workout good here. Got the next two days off to enjoy....

Bud and Bandit checking each other out, first time together in the barn, everything went surprisingly well.
